Banana mail itself tastes so delicious, making it a perfect drink for kids or adults with a sweet tooth. Top it off with ceremonial-grade matcha to transform it into an energizing drink.

The Ingredients of Banana Matcha Latte

The ingredients of this nutritious drink are so simple!

  • Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder – Matcha powder makes or breaks the taste of matcha latte. The taste of a matcha latte is greatly influenced by the quality of the matcha powder used.
  • Banana – Use ripe, spotty bananas for the maximum sweetness.
  • Oat milk – I love using oat milk for my matcha and coffee. In my opinion, oat milk is a delicious companion to coffee and matcha, enhancing its flavor and making it deliciously creamy and smooth. But you can use any milk you like instead of oat milk.

How to make Banana Milk

Making banana milk is so easy! Simply blend together banana and milk in a blender, until the mixture reaches a creamy and smooth consistency.

If you have some frozen bananas in your freezer, this recipe is a perfect place to use them.

One thing to note about this banana milk is that its color darkens over time. Think of bananas being oxidized and darkening their color over time, the same thing happens to the banana milk. So I recommend making this drink just before enjoying!

How to make Matcha Latte

The steps to make this banana matcha latte are the same as making a regular matcha latte.

First, sift the matcha powder into a matcha bowl. If you don’t have a matcha bowl, you can use a small mixing bowl or soup bowl. Matcha powder can be crumpy while storing, so sifting is really important to make a smooth matcha latte.

Next, pour the hot water into matcha powder. The best temperature to make matcha is 80°C/176°F. To make 176°F hot water, boil the filtered water and pour it into a glass to cool a bit. Then add it to matcha powder.

Then whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk until thoroughly mixed and a foam formed on the surface. If you don’t have a bamboo whisk, you can also use a milk frother(handheld or electric) or a small whisk. But a bamboo whisk works best for mixing matcha with water smoothly.

To assemble the banana milk latte, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour banana milk over it. Top with freshly whisked matcha with the foam on top. Mix well and enjoy!
