This is a copycat recipe of the Iced Strawberry Oat Matcha Tea Latte! If you love the drink from Starbucks, I think you will love this recipe even more, because this drink is made with fresh strawberries, honey, and freshly made with quality matcha powder.

The Ingredients of Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

FOR STRAWBERRY HONEY SYRUP

  • Fresh strawberries: I use fresh ones but you can also use frozen strawberries.
  • Honey: Honey is my sweetener of choice and adds. rich, complex sweetness. You can also use maple syrup instead.

FOR ICED STRAWBERRY OAT MATCHA TEA LATTE

  • Matcha Powder: Use ceremonial-grade matcha powder. High-quality matcha makes a huge difference! I love the one from Ippodo, but you can use your favorite matcha.
  • Oat Milk: You can also use other milk like almonds.
  • Freeze-Dried Strawberry Slices: This is an optional garnish but makes this matcha latte look like one from Starbucks!

How to Make Strawberry Honey Syrup

The base of the recipe is homemade honey strawberry syrup! And it’s very simple to make.

In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, honey, and water.

Bring it to a boil over medium heat and cook until strawberry softened, for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to low if necessary to maintain a gentle simmer. Remove from the heat and let cool.

Puree the mixture using a hand blender. Strain over a metal sieve.

Store the leftover syrup in a clean jar and store it in a refrigerator. You can also drizzle it over yogurt or toast!

How to Make Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte: Shaken Matcha Method

Let’s make the latte with the homemade strawberry honey syrup!

In a bowl, combine matcha power and hot water. Whisk using a bamboo whisk until smooth.

In a jar, combine water, oat milk, Strawberry Honey Syrup, ice cubes, matcha, and freeze-dried strawberries. Secure the lid and shake well to combine. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Tip: You can add ¼ cup of water(not hot) and matcha directly to the jar along with other ingredients to skip the whisking process. Matcha powder is mixed by shaking. But the result could be a little bit powdery texture compared to the whisked matcha.
