Jump to Recipe Jump to Video Print Recipe

These Antioxidant Purple Ginger Immunity Shots are vibrant like ruby and full of nutrition. The red cabbage gives a pop of color and is full of antioxidants! Once nicely blended into the shots, you won’t taste any peppery cabbage taste.

What’s in Antioxidant Purple Ginger Immunity Shots?

  • Red Cabbage – cabbage juice is packed with antioxidants and Vitamin C! Red cabbage’s vibrant red/purple color is from the pigments called anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants!
  • Grapes – add sweetness and hide the peppery taste of the caggage.
  • Ginger – did you know ginger peel is edible? I love using organic ginger with skin on it for extra nutrients. Scrub ginger well and make the immunity shot with unpeeled ginger.
  • Turmeric – Use fresh turmeric, or substitute with turmeric powder. Substitute 2-inch turmeric with 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder.
  • Lemon – balance out the flavor.
  • Black pepper – The compound called piperine helps the body absorb the beneficial compound of turmeric. Add just a dash of it, you won’t taste anything.

How to make Immunity Shots

Making homemade wellness shots is so easy and fun! There are 3 ways you can do it depending on what equipment you have.

  1. Juicer
  2. Blender and Nut bag
  3. Blender and Fine-mesh strainer

For the detailed steps, I have a blog post about each method here: Homemade Ginger and Citrus Immunity Shots!

Frequently Asked Question

How long do these immunity shots last?

The immunity shots taste best and have the most nutrients when consumed immediately, as they lose nutrients as time goes by. If you want to save the leftovers for later, store them in clean jars and keep them in the refrigerator. And enjoy them within 24-48 hours.
