Ingredients
- Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed lemon is the best! You’ll need 1-2 lemons for this recipe.

- Tahini: Tahini makes this dressing so creamy and rich without mayonnaise or yogurt, making this recipe dairy-free and vegan.
- Dijon Mustard: Adds an acidic kick to the dressing.
- Maple Syrup: You can also use other sweeteners like agave syrup or honey.
- Fresh Basil: Adds this dressing with a beautiful green hue and flavor.
- Garlic Powder, Sea Salt, and Black Pepper: Adds flavor.
How to Make the Creamy Basil Salad Dressing
For the equipment, you’ll need:
- Personal-Size Blender: The recipe makes about ⅔ cup of dressing. So a regular-size blender(like 48 to 64oz capacity) is too big for this recipe. If you have a personal-size blender, like one for making smoothies and sauces, that’ll work great! If you only have a regular-size blender, don’t worry. It will work too, just scrape down the side from time to time to help the dressing blend smoothly.
Making this dressing is very simple. In a blender, add all the ingredients of the dressing and blend until smooth.
The dressing is very thick, almost like a consistency of mayonnaise. Stir the dressing between blending if a blender has a hard time blending. Add ½ to 1 tablespoon of water for your desired consistency. Taste and add more salt and pepper for your taste.

Creamy Lemon Basil Salad Dressing(Vegan)
Ingredients
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons tahini
- 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 cup fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- A pinch sea salt
- A dash freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- In a blender, add all the ingredients of the dressing. Blend until smooth. The dressing is very thick, stir the dressing if it’s difficult to blend. Add ½-1 Tablespoon of water if the dressing is too thick. Taste and add more salt and pepper.
