Ingredients

This recipe is so forgiving and creative, so don’t stress about sticking to exact ingredients! Use what’s in season, what you love, or what you already have in your fridge. The list below is just a guide to help you build a beautiful and balanced board, and feel free to mix, match, and make it your own!

Rose shaped salami on the cheese board.

For the Red

  • Strawberries and white chocolate – To make homemade white chocolate-dipped strawberries!
  • Charcuterie meat – I used salami and prosciutto.
  • Red fruits and vegetables – Strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, and cherry tomatoes.

For the White

  • White cheddar – White cheddar is a firm semi-hard cheese perfect for making a star cutout. Use star cookie cutter for this shat shaped cheese. You can also use mozzarella.
  • White colored cheese – I used Goat Cheese and Manchego cheese. Brie, camembert, Boursin, and fresh mozzarella balls are also great!
  • Crackers – Use light colored crackers for the white section, like water crackers, wafer crackers, flatbread(croccantini) crackers.
  • Apples – sliced to show the white color inside. Submerge slices in salted water to prevent browning.
  • Cashews

For the Blue

  • Dark colored fruits – Blueberries, blackberries, and black cherries.
  • Dried fruit and nut crisp crackers

Other

  • Fresh Basil – or use other herbs and edible flowers.

Instructions

White chocolate dipped strawberries on the board.

Line a sheet tray with parchment paper. Place the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it using a double boiler or microwave. If using a microwave, heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Dip the half of the strawberries into the melted chocolate and place them on the prepared sheet tray. Save the other half of the strawberries as red ingredients. Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
