Simple Matcha Affogato with Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream Topping
This matcha affogato combines rich, smooth matcha and refreshing strawberry ice cream, topped with healthy strawberry toppings to create a luscious dessert.

- 4-6 small scoops strawberry or vanilla ice cream vegan, dairy-free, or regular
For Strawberry Ice Cream Topping
- ½ cup strawberries hulled and chopped
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
For Matcha
- 1 teaspoon matcha
- 3 Tablespoons hot water
Make strawberry topping: In a saucepan, add strawberries and maple syrup. Cover and cook over medium heat until soft, for about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
Make the matcha: In a matcha bowl, sift in matcha powder. Pour hot water over it and whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk.
In two dessert glasses, add the ice cream. Divide matcha and top with strawberry topping. Enjoy immediately.
